1 pkg #2 pencils (painted not shrink wrapped)
1 pkg of colored pencils
1 pkg of crayons (up to 24 pack)
2 glue sticks
an in desk pencil sharpener with holder for shavings (plastic bag works well)
1 box of Kleenex
1 pair of scissors
1 ruler
1 large pink eraser
4 soft cover duo-tang folders with pockets
low odor dry erase markers
an old clean sock
zipper pencil pouch (not box)
4 duo-tang folders with pockets and center strip

Thin Crayola classic markers (8 pack)

3 packages of YELLOW #2 pencils (at least 12 count - no fancy or
mechanical pencils)
2 packs of glue sticks (6 count packs)
an in desk pencil sharpener with holder for shavings

3 or more packs of "post-it" notes
2 highlighters
2 red pens
2 black pens

1 three hole pencil pouch with zipper
1 medium size school box
2 folders with pockets (1 red and 1 blue)
1 white binder (1 1/2" wide width w/clear pocket front)

2 large boxes of Kleenex or other tissues
Waterless hand sanitizer large pump (Purell)
Box of wet wipes
1 box of plastic quart bags (girls)

First Day of School

The first day of school is scheduled for Tuesday, September 4th. It will be a half day in the morning. The first bell rings at 8:35 am and the kids will get out at 11:50 am.

The class schedules will be posted after 5:30 pm on Friday, August 31st on the main door at Haigh.

5th Grade Supply List

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 4th (half day - morning only). So it's time to start thinking about back-to-school supplies.

Here's the list for the 5th graders. If anyone else has a supply list for one of the other grades, please forward it to me (vlreid@comcast.net) and I'll post it to the group.

The following is a suggested list of school supplies for the Haigh 5th graders:

10 two-pocket folders, duo-tang
6 spiral notebooks (8x10.5 inches)
6 #2 pencils (extras at home)
1 glue stick 1 package of colored pencils
1 package of crayons (up to 24 pack)
1 pair scissors 1 ruler
1 pencil pouch (soft zipper pouch -- no boxes)
1 pencil sharpener
1 large pink eraser
1 box Kleenex
Purell waterless hand sanitizer
Protractor / compass / ruler (centimeters) - FOR HOME USE ONLY - Not to be brought to school

4 colored gel pens for correcting (no green)
4 large pink erasers
1 small childs scissors

real coins- 4 quarters, 10 dimes, 5 nickles, 20 pennies in a zip lock bag with your childs name on the bag

Haigh Points of Pride (2006)

1. Haigh Elementary School has been accredited by the North Central Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement.
2. Haigh Elementary School has met the federal requirements for Adequate Yearly Progress.
